Why the town's history as a transport hub shapes the trenching plan

Tukums is an important railway junction with two stations and a historic crossroads of trade routes between Riga and Kurzeme - that history as a transport hub means more existing utilities and infrastructure along the main roads, which has to be assessed before digging any new trench.

Tukums's historic centre grew up around the castle of the Livonian Order - the older building stock in the town centre calls for a more cautious approach to digging than in the newer districts.

As one of the largest hubs in eastern Kurzeme, we serve a wide area from Tukums - both the town itself and the surrounding villages, where soil conditions and the scope of work can differ substantially from the town centre.

The terrain here is more uneven than in the flat centres of the Zemgale plain, so slopes and access vary locally, while within the compact centre, parking and courtyard access can matter in practice. Seasonality is low - the town's core functions run year-round, and heading out toward the wider municipality, development quickly gives way to farmland, forest and coastal properties, where we handle larger-area works.
