Why hilly Talsi calls for a different approach to water runoff

Talsi is known as the town on nine hills by two lakes - and this hilly terrain means rainwater runoff across the town is uneven. On properties on a slope, water flows faster and can wash away soil, while in the valleys it collects - both situations call for a different approach to drainage.

Talsi's hillfort has been inhabited since the 10th century, and such an old, historic site means older underground structures can sometimes be encountered - we assess for this before starting any digging near the hillfort.
