Why Skrunda's history as an old crossroads calls for caution

Skrunda on the Venta is a settlement more than 750 years old, with a rich history of craft and trade - the ducal postal road once ran through it, linking Jelgava, Saldus, Grobiņa and Liepāja. Such a long history as a transport hub means older infrastructure can sometimes be encountered in the town centre, which we assess for before digging any trenches.
